Just in time for warmer weather, Beardcat’s Sweet Shop opens this Friday on Sullivan’s Island. The colorfully named gelateria is from the same team that brought Italian-influenced eatery The Obstinate Daughter to the beach and is located underneath the restaurant.
Pastry chef Caroline Sherman will be in control of the wide range of sweet offerings at the establishment. Eater is told they will serve 10 flavors of gelato/sorbet, ice cream sandwiches, floats utilizing local product from Cannonborough Beverage Company, gelato sundaes, and various coffees and teas. In the mornings, Beardcat’s will offer breakfast items like baked goods, juices, and smoothies.
